Having once been an inter-county footballer with Roscommon and a secondary school teacher in Mayo, he decided change was required and pursued a career in the arts. He is passionate about the human body and believes its the greatest tool we possess. It was this belief, among others, that took him down the road of being a physical artist.
Through training, creating and working in the industry he discovered that movement can be even more powerful when combined with story. This coupled with working and training alongside Aisling ní Cheallaigh resulted in How to Square a Circle and Sub Rosa being created. Both these shows are touring or available for touring so don’t hesitate to get in contact.
When not performing or training, you can catch Ronan public speaking, giving workshops or even writing a book.. watch this space. ;)
‘Just because something is impossible, doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying.’
A heartwarming story of friendship, ego, love and the joys of a cup of tea. With gravity-defying acrobatics, aerial dance, cyr wheel and lots of laughter, two of Ireland’s leading circus performers explore the realm of the impossible, where the possibilities are infinite.
Irish Circus takes to the theatre in Aisling Ní Cheallaigh and Ronan Brady’s brand new collaboration ‘How to Square a Circle’. Accompanied by the music and soundscapes of Alma Kelliher and direction by Raymond Keane, Aisling and Ronan explore the boundaries of the human body and mind in an evening of entertainment which aims to both awe and intrigue.
Sub Rosa is a brand new Irish street show by homegrown circus artists Ronan Brady and Aisling Ní Cheallaigh. Incorporating cyr wheel, dance and acrobatics, Sub Rosa promises to be unmissable display of Irish circus at its best. In a nostalgic and comedic look at these performers lives, Sub Rosa explores the battle between our internal and external selves, the difference between who we are and how we present ourselves.
