Ronan Brady -
Physical Artist
Ronan Brady is a physical artist, public speaker, coach and author recognised internationally for his expertise in cyr wheel.
Having once been an inter-county footballer with Roscommon and a secondary school teacher, he decided change was required and pursued a career in the arts. He is passionate about the human body and believes its the greatest tool we possess. It was this belief, among others, that took him down the road of being a physical artist.
Through training, creating and working in the industry, he discovered that movement can be even more powerful when combined with story. This coupled with working and training alongside Aisling ní Cheallaigh resulted in the creation of the award winning How to Square a Circle, a circus and theatre hybrid show which recently toured Ireland and beyond, and Sub Rosa, which premiered at Carlow Arts Festival in 2019. Both shows were Arts Council funded and Ronan also received a circus bursary award in 2019.
The move into performing arts has taken him about the world, touring internationally with the smash hit show RIOT from 2016 - 2019, taking in cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, New York and Toronto.
Ronan has just recently written his first book Worlds Apart. The book is an open and funny account about leaving one live in order to create another.
Through Anomaly Performance, Ronan hosts workshops in learning cyr wheel and develops new physical performances such as aerial wheel and cyr wheel, offering specialised entertainment for corporate events, experiential brand activity and festivals.
